Barbara, our Research and Finance Officer, is moving on to exciting new things in February and will no longer be working with SRA. We are so grateful for all that she has done for the organisation over the years. She has been a brilliant advocate for rural and island Scotland, and has assisted the organisation's growth enormously. We will really miss her but look forward to seeing her thrive in her exciting new role. Barbara reflects on her time with SRA below:
"If I’ve spoken to you in the last month and not mentioned that I’m leaving, please don’t take it personally - it wasn’t an easy decision to make! I’ve worked for the organisation for nearly five years and there have been lots of changes in that time. SRA has supported me through studying for my Masters, my move back to London and the Covid-19 pandemic. I’m leaving SRA at a really exciting time; with the next Scottish Rural Parliament being planned, the rural movement gathering pace and a sense that rural and island voices are getting louder and being heard a lot more. Whilst I will no longer be directly involved in this work, I will be watching with interest and taking inspiration from the innovative and resourceful communities of rural and island Scotland. I will always be grateful to the SRA staff, Trustees and members for all the support they have shown me. - Best wishes, Barbara"
We wanted to formally thank Barbara for all her brilliant work on behalf of trustees, staff and members. So, thank you, Barbara!
